At VB Canadian Pool, every project starts with planning. This is the foundation of your future space and helps define how everything will look and function together.

We take into account your ideas, the layout of your property, existing landscaping, and available space to create a solution that works best for you. We also consider city regulations, existing trees, structures, and site access. Your property layout is reviewed to ensure boundaries and any restrictions are respected from the start. Some limitations may not be obvious in the beginning, which is why having a realistic plan is so important. It helps avoid situations where a great idea turns out to be impractical for your space.

Once the plan is developed enough to prepare a quote, we’ll meet with you to go through all the details together.

This is a detailed consultation where we walk you through the full scope of your project. The quote will outline everything involved — including site preparation, access, trenching, materials, landscaping, carpentry (if applicable), gas and electrical work, as well as final site cleanup. If any work is handled by subcontractors, it will be organized by our team and clearly included in the overall estimate.

Tip: It’s helpful to create a prioritized wish list for your backyard. If the full vision doesn’t fit your budget right away, the project can always be completed in stages over time.

Once the design is approved and the project moves forward under contract, we begin preparing the permit drawings and start the permitting process.

The number and type of permits depend on the scope of work, local regulations, and existing features on your property, such as trees, structures, or access points. For example, if there are protected trees, a permit may be required before moving forward. This is then followed by permits for the pool, any structures (like decks or buildings), and additional approvals if needed. Timelines can vary depending on the municipality and the specifics of your project.

Once all permits are approved and materials have been selected, we move into the construction phase.

The first step is marking out the backyard to confirm the layout and make sure everything is aligned before work begins.
Next, we start excavation and begin building the pool.

Material selection is one of the most exciting stages of the process.

Our team will work closely with you to finalize all material choices, making sure every detail is aligned with your vision. Any upgrades or adjustments will be clearly discussed and included at this stage.
